Radiomodem 868 – 870 MHz with RS485 and built-in antenna. Complies with Directive 2014/53/UE (RED)

Z-AIR-1 is an IP65 radio modem with RS485 serial interface and built-in antenna suitable for outdoor applications. The module operates on an 868 – 870 MHz UHF band with 25 kHz or 50 kHz channeled sub-bands. Z-AIR-1 in free use does not require communication of use/frequency employment in accordance with recommendation ERC70-3. The integration of the radio modem with the antenna considerably improves system efficiency by eliminating the connection losses that are penalizing on high frequencies. Unlike its predecessor (Z-AIR), this variant conforms to Directive 2014/453/EU RED and offers multiple operating modes: point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, broadcasting and ModBUS in the master/slave or multi-master modes, programmable via software. These modes make the Z-AIR-1 a flexible product suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

RS485 Communication

The serial port is factory set at 9,600 bps (Baud Rate) 8N1, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configuration.

If it is necessary to program the instrument with a different operating mode/boud rate/protocol, it is necessary to have an RS485/USB converter (please see accessories TAB).

If you need the device configured in mode 8N2 please make explicit request in the order notes.

869 Mhz Radiomodem with RS232/RS485 interface and LoRa radio communication

Z-LINK1-LO is a 869 MHz radio device designed for remote communication operating in a transparent way with ModBUS RTU protocol and exploiting the physical layer of LoRa (Long Range) transmission technology. Based on a UHF radio modem, Z-LINK1-LO enables communication between SENECA Z-PC Line I/O modules and generic ModBUS devices.  The module is easily configured through DIP-switches or PC software EASY SETUP. It also includes 2 serial ports (1 RS232, 1 RS485) and an isolation stage between communication and power up to 1.500 V. Compliant with ETSI standards and AES128 data encryption, Z-LINK1-LO can operate in remote I/O or bridge operating modes with point-to-point and point-to-multipoint communication mode. LoRa technology allows the radio modem to achieve high coverage (up to 1 km with external antenna), 40 mW transmission power, highest noise immunity and sensitivity.
